Holidays in the Cancer Center
This holiday season in the Cancer Center was full of good cheer, decorations, and giving back! On December 22, staff in the Cancer Center gave away 92 meal kits to patients enrolled in the Therapeutic Food Pantry program in cooperation with Second Harvest Food Bank. This is on top of the 125 frozen turkeys, produce bags, and dry goods dispersed for Thanksgiving. This year the Therapeutic Food Pantry has served 320 individual households for a total of 1240 visits.
Every year the New Orleans Oncology Nursing Society (NOON) raises funds for a family in need at every local cancer center. This year NOON was able to purchase $100 Target gift cards for our awardees. We are proud to present the gift card to Ms. Ramona.
Office doors throughout the Cancer Center were brightly decorated to celebrate the holidays. Congrats to the first place winner, Ugly Sweater Door, second place, Infusion Chemo area and third place, Gyn Onc. Honorable mention was the door of the provider's room, with a an acting shoutout to Dr. Boulmay after working so hard on the door!
