We are excited to announce that our very own, Alyana Samai (“Aly”), was recently promoted to LCMC Health's Vice President of Neuroscience Services. In her new role, she will help with both growth and strategy development for the LCMC Health System's neuroscience initiatives.
Alyana began her work in stroke care through clinical research in 2013 and has an extensive publication history, including publications in Stroke and JAMA Neurology. Her passion for optimizing patient-centered systems of care lead her to transition into healthcare leadership in 2016 as the Stroke Program Coordinator for West Jefferson Medical Center. Through her leadership, West Jefferson Medical Center achieved Comprehensive Stroke Certification, the highest level of certification offered by The Joint Commission.
As a result of her efforts to further West Jefferson Medical Center’s mission of providing world-class neuroscience care to the Westbank community, Alyana was recognized as a Healthcare Hero by City Business in 2019. Since then, Aly was promoted to lead as our Director of Neuroscience, where she has been integral in the development of the LCMC Health Neuroscience Institute. In 2022, Aly was given the dual role of Director of Neuroscience at both West Jefferson Medical Center and University Medical Center.
