CHNOLA Team Members,

As the freezing weather approaches our area this evening, we will begin to experience dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills. Light rain will begin to transition into freezing rain over the northwest parts of the state, and slowly work southeast through the night. Light accumulations are expected in the Winter Weather Advisory area (Jefferson / Orleans Parishes not included), with rain expected for the Metro New Orleans area.

All rain/winter weather will exit to the east early/mid-morning Tuesday; however, a Hard Freeze Warning is in effect for both the north and south shore from 10 pm Tuesday through 10 am Wednesday due to low temperatures.

Some area schools have announced closures ahead of the winter weather.

Please also monitor for any modifications to public transportation by checking RTA's website here >>. Check the DOTD website for road closures here >>
